bearing in mind its thanksgiving then im guessing this will be tall order

fwiw head over the hells kitchen area, towards the husdon, diners tend to be cheaper* than round the usual tourist hotspots

* obviously what constitutes cheaper in NYC is a moot point

If you want traditional Thanksgiving menu will need to pre-book. It's not cheap.

My recommendation would be Carmine's. Cheapest we found for group of 5 good food too. Around 200. But that was a couple years ago.

I googled Carmine's and found this which may be useful...

If you aren't bothered about traditional Thanksgiving food there are loads of good diners too. Many of which will do a Thanksgiving special. Variable quality

Thanks both.

I actually looked at the site on that link yesterday, thanks.
Will do a bit more research, was hoping not to pay more than $200.

We went to Philip Marie, had a great three course thanksgiving meal. Approx $55 dollars per adult, not sure if they had a children's option.

There were lots of places doing thanksgiving meals relatively cheaply which seemed to be walk ins but obviously no idea of quality,

Friend of a farmer gets good reviews but think it may be more expensive and it booked up really early. A lot of restaurants didn't launch thanksgiving menu until a few weeks before
