I might be swayed into using the Turnpike back to Miami if running late but tolls are to be avoided in my book.
Not a respected Guru, but as an Alamo customer, Ill willingly pay $19.75 admin plus tolls at cost to be able to drive were I want withought worrying if I have change, miss a toll, find that I come against unmanned toll etc. I then just need to concentrate on my driving.
Yes, I could set my satnav to avoid toll roads, but in general that would take me on longer routes, and over the duration of our holiday I’d pay more in extra fuel needed than the admin plus tolls. Normally have a standard SUV that’s quite thirsty.
I’m also not basing my £5000 holiday around avoiding a few dollars road charges, I’ve better things to do with my time.

But everyone needs to make their own mind up. There’s no right or wrong on this.

Not certain whether I fall into the category of a Hindu spiritual teacher either but have to agree about the need to avoid tolls.

On the journey from MCO to the Highgate Park area which I've done maybe twenty times I could indeed avoid about $4 in tolls on the 417. Trouble is I'd end up nearer Melbourne on the 192 than Celebration. I'd have probably used $10 more gas, lost my way six times and got to the villa an hour later than normal.

Mick the leaving the youngest child as security comment was brilliant any chance they’d accept someone a bit older, say about my wife’s age.

All things are negotiable. Assume she's not a Dibber?
