Mobile Kids meals on dining plan

Hi. Daft question alert!

I'm assuming kids can only choose meals from the kids menu in TS or QS restaurants at Disney.

The kids menus do seem a little limited. Can the kids plan be upgraded to an adult plan.

Thanks

In QS restaurants all the credits are worth the same, so you can order child or adult meals for anyone in your party.

For TS restaurants I believe children do have to order from the kids menu as child and adult TS credits are different. We've only done QSDP before so hopefully some more experienced DIBBers will be along to answer in more detail on this.

They can choose any meal at a quick service restaurant.

At table service they can only choose kids meals. It’s a while since I had an under 10 but we found some places where better than others. My dd quite likes pasta so that was her fall back if the menu didn’t suit and they had that most places.

You can upgrade them to adults with some provisos. If you have booked a package with flights you can’t as you have to have the correct date of birth on the flight ticket.

You would need to upgrade their ticket to an adult ticket (relatively cheap) and if you are paying for dining you’d also have to pay the increase to an adults dining plan (which can be significant).

Great thanks. QS was more of the issue than TS. Thanks

We upgraded our kids - only costs an extra £20 or something.

Kids food was usually quite good but nice to have the options.

£20 to upgrade but don’t forget you’ll pay increased tips at ts as it’ll be % of the adults costs which can be a lot more than kids costs.

Only if you order from the adults menu - which would be fair enough... Tip is based of the cost of the meal - adult food is more expensive but if you order from the kids menu its cheaper and the tips will reflect that.

If you got to a buffet and for any reason they put the kids through as adult (they didn't for us) just recalculate the tip based on the kids price - which in that situation would be fair - if you explain to your server they will probably just do you a new bill showing kids prices.

DDP is linked to the tickets. So you basically change the kids tickets to adult tickets (which are only about £20 more expensive) which then automatically upgrades the dinning package.

We booked direct with Disney and phoned them up to sort it. Not sure what you do if you booked via a travel agent sorry but a TA should be able to sort.
