I think those planes flew over Cumbria as well, I was in bed(very sorry hadn’t heard about this or I would have been watching) and I could hear planes going over which were definitely different from the usual raf planes , looking up info there was a b17 that crashed on skiddaw in 43 as well as the one that crashed near where Belfast zoo is , I wonder if they passed by a few sites?

We’d have loved to be there
One of the first memories our youngest has is of being in our garden
On a beautiful August afternoon with all of us when we lived in Hawarden (North Wales ) of a selection of WW 2 planes flew over he was 3 for us it brought home how many wife’s Mothers Girlfriends
must have counted those crews out and back in
A fitting tribute shows we still have a country to be proud of even if at the minute it doesn’t seem so

Still great planes flying over Hawarden, the Beluga XL and also the tornados were here last week!

We could watch the Beluga go up from the Garden we only came back to Scotland as DH had done the Job his company sent him to do 4
Of the best years of our life when our boys were young
The Beluga is a site to see as are the RAF flights going up from just down the road
If you like a easy read check out now I think only available on line A Distant Summer by Sarah Higgins ( daughter of Jack ) it’s about a young girls
First love during Ww2 it really brought home to me
With a book about the WI roll how many women
Defended the home front
