Ps Twilight Zone tv show is being remade starting April

Having watched that vlog it doesn't mention the theming being changed, it just says it is being refurbished

The ride isn’t being rethemed, the spring refurb is just a refurb no retheming, to ensure ride in best shape for when Galaxy edge opens. They are keeping the ride open during the refurb as will close each drop shaft one at a time. Will increase queue times for next few months.

This is one reason why re-theming now makes little sense, another being that as others have pointed out WDW will have a GotG themed ride in Epcot soon. (interestingly with the 3rd GotG film currently on hold we will have to see if this starts to move forward again to coincide with the ride opening) I think they may wait and see how successful the reboot of the tv show is and update it with newer TZ theming if it is popular. I love it how it is and am not a fan of a re-theme

Think once Star Wars land opens and the new Mickey ride then Hollywood Studios is ‘done’ for the time being and the focus goes into Epcot.

Retheming Tower of Terror would also mean that Sunset Blvd would require a retheme...

It was easier to fit retheming into Disneyland.

Would also be weird to open two guardians themed rides back to back.

Can’t see it happening.

Tower of Terror is my absolute favourite ride at Disney and I will be gutted if it’s rethemed. I love the current theming even though I’ve never really watched the Twilight Zone.
