Mobile IVF Support

I post on here a lot but have signed up with a new username for this as it’s something I want to keep private from anyone I know.

I don’t suppose there’s many people out there going through IVF but, in case there is, I’ve set this up.

We started our journey for our first round on Friday evening. 🤞

DH and I went through 6 cycles of IVF with no luck (more than 20 years ago I might add), ending up adopting a wee girl, which sent us down the line of fostering... Been doing this for 21 years now, and we've decided when the two boys we have reach 21, we will retire from this (one is 14 and the other is 11). However, both know that they can stay with us for as long as they wish as they are part of our family. DD has not been without her troubles, but she is currently doing well.

One thing I would say to anyone who is thinking of adopting, get as much information about the birth family, and get photos of the, to put into a memory book. Medical history of the birth family is also very helpful.

I wish you both all the best and lots of luck xx

Thanks everyone for your comments and sorry to those of you who haven’t had success.

Our journey is probably quite different to most in that, as far as tests show, we are both fertile. However, we’ve never tried to conceive to back that up! We do risk a 50% chance of carrying a gene on that causes a nasty disease. So we are trying to avoid that.

Two families I know have done IVF to avoid passing on fatal genetics. They now have health children without the life limiting genetics. I hope it works for you .

Just wanted to pop on and leave my best wishes that your IVF journey is a short and successful one!
I'd say listen to your instincts if something doesn't feel right or you have questions just go ahead and keep asking till you're happy you understand what's going on. Write everything down (blood levels, follicle sizes) just so you can look back if things don't work out and have a good detailed conversation with your consultant.
And be kind to yourself - it's a huge emotional and physical thing to put yourself though xxxx

My IVF 'babies' will be 10 very soon 3 failed ICSIs, 4 failed frozen embryo transfers, and a hospital admission with OHSS and I don't regret one (expensive ) minute of it!

Thank you for the advice everyone.

Unfortunately this cycle isn’t going quite as planned as 8 days in I haven’t responded to the drugs at all! Upped slightly on Friday and then back for a scan monday. If nothing has happened I don’t know if it’s up them again or cancel for this round 🤷We will see I guess.
