We have just checked into BLT standard view Studio 7209 (2nd floor) which has a wonderful view of the games court and pool. We had quite low expectations and are very happy. Just waiting for our 2 bed to be allocated😁

Please note that due to DVC high occupancy requests are often not honoured and you should go with an expectation that it won't be- then be pleasantly surprised if it is.
BLT has a complex layout. If you go over to the DVC section on another well know board with the first three letters of the surname of the man who conceived WDW as its title, and select the DVC forum, then the resorts sub forum, you'll see a BLT thread. In there I think it is, there's a map of every room on a plan, with an explanation of what the outlook is.
Thanks, I'll have a look.

If we end up with a poor view it's not the end of the world, but i'd be kicking myself if I hadn't at least put in a request for a different view.

Jaybeez, we rented points at BLT last year via Dvc rental store, the reservation was on MDE for me to manage, I did online check in and (I think) selected higher floor, I also did a TP request for a specific room on the 5th floor, we didn’t get the exact room but it was only a few away, it was a standard view but we could see the castle and the fireworks, it was however across the car park but we were very pleased x

Thanks for the reply. If we get a high floor then the car park wouldn't be as much of a problem, but I don't mind if we face the Contemporary, games court, etc.

Yes there are two kinds of room requests. There are sometimes (these change, disappear etc) sometimes generalised room requests on MDE such as 'high floor'. These can be problematic as suddenly they are not there (many complaints in the past on forums such as this- 'Why no room request choices on MDW' etc).
However if you want a specific room type of request such as even number (I recall there is something about odd and even numbers at BLT), South Tower etc, this has to be done via member services- it cannot be done via normal channels. Also note if you select anything on MDE, it will overrule any requests put in with Member Services. I like to do it all on chat with member services and you can get an email printout of the chat for confirmation.
Daves will ask the owner to contact MS and put such a request in. If you do get the owner to put in more specific requests, DO NOT select anything on MDE. When putting in requests, don't give a specific room number, make it a little more generalised.

Quick update. Thank you everyone for their help, for various reasons I decided not to put in any sort of request and just be happy with whatever we were allocated.

We ended up on the 4th floor and this was our view, not bad for a standard view😀 We were above the loading bay but that wasn’t a problem. We loved Bay Lake Tower and would love to go back.

That’s almost the same view we had, but we were on the 5th floor, we loved BLT as well x

I’d just make a request through touring plans, we did that for beach club and got exactly what we requested
