$100 a day Again! COMPLETE August 2018 - Universal and Offsite Eating inc lots of Supermarket photos

We are back from our August Holiday. We stayed at Aventura Hotel, Universal and did both Universal parks, MNSSHP, Disney Springs and a touch of Seaworld.

We have a car and eating was mainly offsite. Mostly re did our usual faves but made it to a couple of new places.

As usual I aim to spend $100 a day on food. This is for all meals eating out for 3 of us.

We are 2 adults and DD age 12. DD in the main has adult meals now (she is 5ft 7)

Before we went I signed up to lots of restaurant email clubs and had some new joiner discount coupons. I printed those that came before we went but any that came when we were away I showed on my phone with no issue.

I also bought a restaurant.com certificate for O'Charleys. This cost $10 to save $25.

I have a Landry's select club card with an August birthday.

I had a groupon for the Lindt shop at the premium outlets that had cost $5 for $30 worth of chocolates. I also had a groupon for a $20 giftcard for steak and shake which cost $10. Worth keeping an eye on groupon Orlando for any deals.

We also had a $100 food and drink credit to spend at the hotel as a perk of early booking the hotel.

Thanks for reading hope you enjoy

Day 1 Friday 17th August 2018

Travel day

We were flying with BA Manchester to Heathrow, Heathrow to Miami and then DH drove up to Orlando

Usual stop at Boots at Manchester Terminal 3 for a £1 ham sandwich for DD who won't eat plane food

Breakfast a Heathrow Terminal 3 from Eat

£16.44

BA Plane food was pasta or chicken, bit later on a mini magnum then chicken caesar sandwich just before landing. I'd orderd DD a kids meal which was chicken nuggets.

Traffic was heavy leaving Miami as it was rush hour Friday so we just stopped at West Palm Beach service Plaza enroute to orlando. Each services has a food court area with lots of choices like burger king, kfc, dunkin donuts. Prices are dearer than a normal restaurant much the same as services here. Think my sandwich was a couple of dollars dearer than the earl of sandwich at disney springs.

DH and DD went to KFC for a combo meal each.

$16.56

I had an Earl of Sandwich 'original' as a meal with crisps and a coffee

$12.11

Aventura Hotel, Universal Orlando

We got a couple of bottles of water before heading to bed

It was passholder appreciation month so any annual pass even our cheapest seasonal saved 10% at the Hotel urban pantry foodcourt

$6 (approx)

Yes found the receipt it was $3 a bottle of water so with ap discount inc tax just under $6. Paid cash not room charge, no idea why.

Day 2

Saturday 18th August 2018

Breakfast

Denny's

5825 International Drive

Our traditional first morning breakfast. This Denny's is just up from Universal Blvd, under 5 mins drive from Aventura.

We have always found it to be clean and friendly staff and today was the same.

I had a 20% off coupon for joining the email club.

Me and DH had coffee to drink. DD water.

DD had the kids choc chip panackes with sausage and bacon

DH his fave GrandSlamwich

I had the Double Berry pancakes breakfast which was very good

Server gives you a check for the full amount. I always leave tip on table then you pay at the till. At the till I showed the coupon (had printed it) and they deducted 20%.

Receipt shows amount before 20% discount

Total $22.37 plus tip

Saved $5.25 with the coupon
