Feeding 16 tomorrow night! Help!
So we invited DH's cousin and family over for a meal tomorrow night. They have 4 kids but 3 live away from home now so though it would just be three of them. Turns out they are all coming which is fine, but DH has now extended the invitation to loads of others meaning there will be 16 in total!
I really don't know what I'm going to do for 16. I know I could do a chilli or curry in my slow cooker but if I'm honest i had visions of something a bit more special as we have invited them over as a thank you to DH's cousin as he helped us with our new kitchen. DH was helpful as ever suggesting beer and crisps! What do you think? |

Wow that's putting the new kitchen to good use ...could you do like a party spread of food to cater for everyone... It would save you having to dish out for 16 as well...This might be too much hassle but just a thought.
Good luck ...you will have to let us know how it goes

Cooking for 16 people would stress me.
I think if it was me I'd make a buffet. Let them all help themselves A curry is a good idea though. I'm sure everyone will enjoy the night and company rather than expecting a fancier meal |

I think I’d do something like roast chicken with jacket potatoes and salady bits.
You can roast and carve the chickens earlier in the day and then just chuck the potatoes in the oven in the evening so you’re not slaving in the kitchen when everyone is there |

I'd do the slow cooker curry, chilli, etc. 16 isn't many. You'll be fine 😀

Thanks all. The chicken is a good idea. This was my plan for 10 of us I just wasn't sure how I was going to cook three or 4 of them 😂. But yes if I serve cold that would make things easier.
Might do a buffet of roast chicken and another slow cooked meat, potato wedges and then some salad stuff. Thanks all... I knew you'd come up trumps! |

Have a looo at Gordon Ramsey’s Slow cooked pork recipe with chipotle mayo onions and some crusty rolls or soft barms with potatoes salad
I make this every Boxing Day as there’s usually 20 of us and I just buy a big shoulder of pork put the stuff on it and whack it in the oven on a bed of halved onions it’s delicious 😆 |
