Do you think I have under estimated budget?
Hubby thinks I’ve under estimated our budget.
Below is a rough idea of what we would be doing each day and what I think we would spend. We are staying on I drive so going to be eating there most of time. Some chips, burgers nuggets snacks etc in Disney parks but we won’t be eating much else. We are two adults and two kids (3&4) Day 1- flying. Have v room for breakfast. Plane for lunch and will be doing Panda Express dinner(hubbys favorite) $35 Day 2 Breakfast hotel = 0 Lunch/snack $50 Disney Springs shopping $100 Magic bands $100 Dinner $50 Walmart $100 I drive $50 Tip $20 Day 3 Breakfast hotel 0 magic kingdom parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 4 Breakfast ihop/Denny $45 I drive(mini golf/shopping etc) $100 Lunch/snack $20 Dinner Bahama Breeze $65 Tip $25 Day 5 Breakfast hotel 0 Blizzard beach Lunch/snack $25 Dinner T. rex $110 Tip $30 Ghiridella $30 Shopping $50 Day 6 Breakfast hotel 0 Animal kingdom parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 7 Breakfast hotel 0 Hollywood Studios parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Petrol $50 Day 8 Breakfast hotel 0 Wonderworks Lunch/snack $50 Dinner $50 Tip $20 I trolley $12 I drive $50 Day 9 Breakfast hotel 0 Epcot parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 10 Breakfast ihop/Denny’s $45 Lunch/snack $20 Dinner $65 Tip $30 Disney Springs $45 (port Orleans) Shopping $100 Day 11 Breakfast hotel 0 magic kingdom parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 12 Breakfast hotel 0 Typhoon lagoon Lunch/snack $50 Dinner $50 Tip $20 I drive $100 Day 13 Breakfast hotel 0 Animal kingdom parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 14 Breakfast hotel 0 Madame Tussaud’s Shopping $50 Lunch/snack $20 Dinner rainforest cafe $110 Tip $40 Ghiridelli $30 Day 15 Breakfast hotel 0 Hollywood Studios parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Petrol $50 Day 16 Breakfast ihop/Denny $45 Sea life/Orlando eye Lunch/snack $20 Dinner $65 Tip $30 I drive $100 Day 17 Breakfast hotel 0 Lunch/snack $50 Dinner $50 Tip $20 I drive/shopping $100 Day 18 Breakfast hotel 0 Epcot parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 19 Breakfast hotel 0 Lunch/snack $50 Dinner $50 Tip $20 I drive/shopping $100 Day 20 Breakfast hotel 0 magic kingdom parking $25 Lunch/snack $70 Dinner $70 Tip $30 Day 21 Breakfast hotel 0 Lunch/snack $50 Dinner $50 Tip $20 I drive/shopping $100 Day 22 Breakfast $45 Disney Springs check out Lunch/snack $30 Dinner plane home Tip $15 Shopping $100 So in total I’m thinking $4927 basically rounded that up to even $5000 as a rough budget. Hubby thinks that I should add an extra $100 a day ish to my estimate. When I have put I drive it’s basically dollars for if we want any souvenirs, crazy golf going to mall or outlets. Just spending money really that’s not for food. I don’t think we will spend this on most of our days and we will hopefully be using a credit card for most of it if we can. Sorry it’s a long read. |

I think that’s loads. Your tip value seems high.
If Dinner is $50, tip would be no more than $10 (ie 20%) |

Hey,
Last summer we took 4000 dollars for 3 of us. Staying in a villa quite far out and obviously self catering. We couldn’t spend it! We spend over 1500 dollars on souvenirs and shopping and bought 200 dollars home. We didn’t skimp on anything and had 4 character meals. Plus in the parks you’ll easily share 2 x meals between 4 of you. Petrol is super cheap. We had a mid size and filled up twice. Each fill up from empty to full was 20 dollars! At the end when we returned the car we had done over 700 miles on 40 dollars of fuel! Have a great time.

I also think it’s loads.
IHOP/Denny’s breakfast won’t be $45. I would keep the park food allowances as a couple of qs and drinks soon add up. I also found our children didn’t want to eat as much with the heat. DS has been when he was 16 months 3 1/2 and 5. He still didn’t eat that much in April when he was 5. |

I think it’s loads too. Tried to over estimate so that I’m not too shocked when I get home and see how much I’ve spent but with things like the food I’ve tried to think if hubby will have a few coffees etc at ihop but my two kids generally share a meal when we go out over here and they possibly will be doing the same over there but I wanted to budget for both them in case. I thought I’d really over estimated and I can deal with the $5k figure as that seems about right and if I come back spending less that will be great but for some reason “he that shall not be named” thinks he’s right all the time and that we need an extra $2k on top of that.
Would have liked to try and Stick to some sort of budget but don’t think that will happen with him. Tips I think I have over estimated think I’ve got for about 20% but will depend on service and where we actually eat. My hubby would eat at Panda Express every night if I allowed it |

You could easily spend less so you’re definitely over budgeting however I agree better to think you have more than worry that you’ve not enough.
Eating on I.drive will enable you to sign up for restaurants before you go for freebies or money off. Lots of places do Kids eat free or special deals on certain nights; you could even buy the Kids eat free card.

For us, me, dh, DS 5 dd 2 in April we had a week on site then a week in a villa.
Ok mainly did the water parks the second week so not much park eating did but eat out every night, some gift shopping and petrol, we spent about $900 And dh somehow always manages to pick the most expensive item on the menu and drink a few cocktails |

You could probably save money by doing a throwaway booking at Fort wilderness campsite, depending on the dates. We just did it for $88 and it gives us free magic bands, two days free parking, extra magic hours for those two days and 60 day FP+ booking. So saves us about $80 plus the bonus of 60 day FP+.
There's a big thread all about it that I got the idea from.
