2AD + 1 Child (9) (25th May - 8th June)
What are your thoughts - trying to not overbook things than I feel like I'm not booking enough
We have the DDP so I've booked places I think will be nice but its all about my 9yr old at end of the day so character dining is key for her to catch everyone. we will do a waterpark but I cant swim and neither can my daughter so its not something that's important...id be Just as happy with hotel pool for a dip and a cocktail Daughter is also animal obsessed so I know any spare hours she will want to be back in AK looking at animals ...not even on rides just the animals. should I do a daytrip outside Disney for an animal experience instead 1 day maybe (we are not driving)? Thanks 25th May - Travel Day to Universal Day 2 US/IoA Day 3 US/IoA Day 4 US/IoA/Volcano Bay Day 5 Morning goodbye to Universal Move to Disney Port Orleans. Hi
We return in April for second visit with nine year old daughter (first visit 2016). As well as character dining she loved meeting princesses around the countries in Epcot have some fab photos of Mulan teaching her some moves and seeing Belle in France. If your daughter would also like to meet some princes as well as princesses have you considered the Bon voyage breakfast at the boardwalk? Or the artist point character meal to meet Snow White etc? You may have discounted it but did you consider booking one of the animal experiences such as caring for giants at animal kingdom for your daughter to have extra animal time? It might be an option rather than a day somewhere else. Have fun Hx Edited at 06:01 PM. Reason: Error in name, sorry that should say MULAN TEACHING not Wilma LOL Hx |

Character dining is a great way to meet lots of characters for children and I have booked in a lot for my 2. How much stamina has your 9 year old got because that is a pretty gruelling schedule until day 9. On your change over to POFQ it might be better to have it as a more of a rest day, check out the resort, pool etc?

I agree with above. Dont underestimate how gruelling walking around parks is regardless of the excitement. Id be dotting in a few earlier resting days

Thanks for input I've jigged around a few things e.g. later ADRs and cancelled some ADR's to have more down time inbetween activities.
We are early morning people so I'm going with a plan of early mornings - back to hotel pool for few hours in afternoons and then out again in evenings for dinner etc Ill keep at it and hopefully by time fastpass window opens it will have a better flow |

It is very similar to how we do parks, get up early, get them done and pool in the afternoon and out again in the evening for dinner. Are you driving? The only thing to consider is time with Disney transport. We love Cali Grill althought I am not sure if it is worth the 2 credits as we normally pay OOP as I normally have the Sushi.

If your daughter loves animals there are quite a lot of animal experiences at Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge if you didnt want to travel. A few are
Up close with Rhinos Starlight Safari Savour the Savannah Sense of Africa Some of these are in the evening. We did the wild Africa Trek a couple of years ago which was brilliant but it is quite expensive. |
