We have had problems getting a standard view studio at BWV at exactly 11 months. I don’t know why as I was trying to book the minute booking became available.

Only point I would add is DVC has some different 'busy times' then cash reservations do? Its often harder to get a reservation when the points are chespest to book rather than traditionally park busy times? Make sure you look at the different seasons? I've never had issues in the summer to book at 7 months, but have in November!

My issue was walking. You could see people doing it on the calendar.

This happened to me twice (two different years) at BLT, both Xmas.

At the moment there is sporadic availability for a studio in August but a 1 bed is available. I'd speak to your guide and get him to confirm that he would be able to get you a studio at CCV. You would be able to get a studio at OKW, SSR or ALK with this short notice.

As others have said you should be OK booking your home resort at 11 months although Christmas and New Year are difficult at some resorts.

Also, if you are serious about buying then you should sign before the price hike later this week.

I really cannot remember now as it was some years ago. However we normally go April or March so it is unlikely.

Thank you all for your replies/help. We have just had a meeting and been told about being able to use the ‘Disney owned inventory’ for our first stay in August as Disney like people to be able to stay in their home resort for their first DVC stay. It looks like we would be able to stay at CC in August, if not BCV have all of our nights available except 3, where we could move if we wanted. DH wants to stay at CC so we would get that booked.

We have done the sims and it looks like it works in our favour. We have set up a meeting tomorrow so we can sign on the dotted line before the price hike if we want to.

Beyond the first booking, definitely not. 11 months out, bang on 1pm, there is currently nothing but the odd day appearing here and there. It does seem to be around the same time Star Wars Galaxies Edge is expected to open though.
