He landed up doing a points transfer to another UK DVC member but only for enough to cover the maintenance fees.
About £5 a point. Ouch.

If he wants to do that again have him PM me, I'll have them!

Yes the US agent confused me as well. He was quite evasive. Hence reason for checking on here.

We used daves last year as didn’t use hardly any of our points, at first I wasn’t to sure, but glad I did, I didn’t want to rent to several people as that’s more work for the renter, as I had beach club points they all went within 24 hrs to one family, one good thing is dave will get the maximum out of your points, also they send you an email with a request so you can decide whether you want to accept or not.

Sorry to jump on your thread but we are also looking to rent out a large number of points and wondering the best way to do it!

For anyone that has used Dave’s - how did you go about withdrawing the money? I’m aware that they pay the money into PayPal so is the exchange rate there ok? Or are there any other methods of withdrawing the money?

I’m also aware that you can advertise your points on the dibb - is there a fee to do this?

Thanks in advance!

The exchange rate is OK, you lose a couple of pence on the dollar. Then just transfer into your bank. Or leave as dollars for and future dollar spending on it (shame you can't pay dues by PayPal ).

That would be brilliant if we could pay our dues by PayPal. Maybe one day.

I tried renting them out here at £13 a point. Not one taker, a couple of lowball offers. If I do put them on the DIBB again it will be for £15 a point (I have to pay to advertise them and it's more risk/hassle renting directly).

Those that are renting out at £10 and below... words fail me.

I gave up and went with David's, he charges renters $18, which is £14. Of that I get $14, which is £11. Points were rented out in a matter of hours, money in my Paypal account within 24hrs.
So in the end you got £11/point but you’d be looking for £15/point from theDibb?

I rented on here a few years ago for £10/point. Rented them all in 3 or 4 transactions. The main reasons I didn’t go with Dave’s is he holds onto part of your money until check in. Which in my case was 11 months away. I was renting to pay for a different holidays so i didn’t want to wait 11 months for the final 30%.

You can get $14.50 from Daves which is £11.26 at the moment. I think you’d get £11/point on theDibb.

Yes I think on here is an easy was to rent, I didn’t know Daves didn’t need the tax return so I used the DIBB I did like you get paid as soon a booking made though and I think £11 to £12 a point should be a reasonable ask, my DD was looking to rent on here and no one renting out enough points so she went to Daves who charges about £15 a point, so last night she bit the bullet and bought into DVC 👏🏻

If I ever rented on here I would ask for £12/ 13 a point. With dues going up so much, and this would be reasonable. But I’m not sure it would be worth the extra aggro. I’d have to specify minimum 5 days or something so I don’t get bombarded with requests for one and two nights, perhaps then only dealing with one and two nights at the end if there are a small amount of points to mop up.
