any advise on booking home resort at 11 month for christmas

hi all,

i am having issues and wanted to know if anyone had any hints or tips on trying to get a standard view at my home resort at blt in a studio from boxing day.

I was online prior to the opening of the dates and it said boxing day was available but wouldnt let me book as not past 1pm yet. Anyhow updated the site at 1pm and no boxing day availability for sv and will not let me book rest of the trip as this is then out my 11 month window so i feel like i am going round in circles

Anyway I have ended up booking a sv lake view room for the full 26th december for 7 nights and waitlisted the same dates for the sv

Has anyone any other hints or tips when trying to book christmas dates, i had no issues at all last year but did book from 23rd dec

Praying now i can get 2nd - 5th jan also

We are doing the same but from the 27th so we can get the decks down before we travel!
I doubt you will have an issue if you log on once the window opens. Just need to remember we are 5 hours in front

hi my window was today at 1pm and i was on at 1pm and still couldnt get boxing day in a sv

this then meant that i couldnt book a sv room as the 27th dec was then classed as i cant book it today only tomorrow so going round in circles.

i have booked the lake view as that was avail and waitlisted the standard view

I would have recommended walking this but it’s probably too late now. You will find the 26th has been booked for some days by people who booked trips starting on the 16th for 10 days. They will have then rolled the dates forward a day at a time.

i thought this too - i thought they had stopped people being able to walk

can i now call every day and add on a day at a time from 2nd jan?

Standard view BLT studio (?) is one of the three or four most popular rooms in DVC- AKL Concierge and BWV Studios (or 2 beds) also fit in this category.
Thus I think walking is a necessity.
I was just looking this morning, and the 31/12 is already booked out there due to fireworks I think.
Also looking at Copper Creek. The studios are a massive issue there, too many points on bungalows and too few studios. 11 months out there is nil availability- walking is the only option there also for all studios. I would not buy Copper Creek to stay in studios, as one may be sorely disappointed, then locked out of other resorts until 7 months. I was amazed to see even 1 beds there are gone for a few days the week before Xmas. Major issue with the points loaded on those bungalows, which are of course available to book, even most nights in Feb. There will be some angry owners there.
Unfortunately Stacey walking is now easier than ever with the online system and becoming ever more commonplace. They need to clamp down on this- perhaps 2 changes per booking only or something.

You don’t need to call, just modify your booking online to add a day.

Walking a reservation is even easier now with being able to modify reservations online.

Think it will end up costing me around 26 points extra in total than the standard view and i have just looked at the room map and i'm not going to stress over it now i will try and change but if not i suppose i am lucky to have gotten it - just the flight prices situ to overcome now

oh and my august flights still to book - praying for a reduction in those too
