December Flights

I am looking to book for Christmas and the flights are so expensive.

Does anyone know the best time to book.

£3000 with Virgin for 2 adults and 2 kids
£2500 with Thomas Cook

Mess around with dates, a day or two earlier or later can make a difference.

Be as flexible as you can with which airports you fly out of and into.

Norwegian would be cheaper than either of the two you’ve quoted. We’ve looked at VA, BA and Norwegian for a variety of Dec dates and have gotten many alternative prices.

VA released before BA st a very high cost. Once BA released the VA dropped to price match. Norwegian remained fairly consistent but not always the cheapest.

The airlines have you over a barrel when it comes to Christmas. I'd be looking at indirect options.

Look at BA, although their sale has ended now. We are flying LHR-MIA 24th Dec-5th Jan, 2 adults and 1 teen, including luggage was £417pp.

I booked the last week of the BA sales (WT going on 16th Dec and WT+ coming back on 28th Dec - both direct flights LGW/MCO) and it only cost me £624 which also included a £70 discount with Avois points. I looked last week and it's double the price now. Best to book when airlines are having their sale.

We go every Christmas and never pay more than £400 ish each.

You need to avoid mco, that’s never cheap, look at tpa, fll or Mia for cheaper flights, indirect is also a good option.

This year we are lhr-Mia inc just over 3 weeks premium suv for £2300, 2a 2c.

We booked with Norwegian a few weeks ago for Christmas 19. It was around £1900 for 3A + 1x14yo. We're flying into and out of Tampa as it was around £400 cheaper over all. We should have looked at flying in to Tampa and out of MCO as it would have been the same price, but we were eager to book the cheap seats before they sold out.
