Villa cancellation

I found our villa advertised online for our October 2017 in early 2017 Summer.

Had a chat with the owner (UK based) who advised that we was the last booking as ar per the calendar no more bookings were to be taken after ours. (reason for the sale was due to the husband and wife owners going their own ways.)

The owner (Husband) was great, he explained the full situation saying that at the start of 2017 him and his wife split and his plan was to keep the villa, but on one salary it was too much of a risk for him so needed to sell.

As a result of this, in Spring 2017 he put the villa on the market with a clause with the real estate that the villa would only be able to be purchased / completed on from the start of November to allow plenty time to line up buyers in a competitive market rather than leaving the house empty losing more money. (makes sense to me)

At the time the alarm bells were ringing for me) however the owner went beyond expectations to re enforce my confidence in him by him sharing confidential documents he had earlier submitted to his real estate agent detailing the date the final sale could complete from with acknowledgement and assurance from the real estate company and pdf sales documents which clearly detailed this. (Apparently this is common for properties which are used in the rental world)

It all worked out great, met the owner who was out there on our second to last day and then to give the villa the final lick of paint here and there, removing his good TV and signing on the dotted line before releasing the villa to the new owners the following week.
