Avis preferred adding extra driver?
We booked Avis using BA and as we are executive club members we get a free additional driver free
The car hire voucher only has my name on it as the named driver. As I have Avis preferred I quite like the idea of bypassing desk and going straight to garage. Can I do this even though I need to add wife on as additional driver or do I need to go to main rental desk or can this be done on Avis website prior to arrival Thanks

I'd like to know the answer to this too... have booked a BA Fly drive and am an Avis preferred member, could someone who's been talk us through the process? Can I go straight to the garage and sort out the additional driver there or do I need to go to the desk in the airport 1st. Also thinking that the $19.95 max charge for toll use plus the actual value of the tolls charged might be a worth while investment, any opinions?

No need to go to desk as spouse is automatically covered, obviously will need they’re licence but no need to show it.

If you are signed up to Avis Preferred you can go straight to the garage and bypass the desk in the airport. You will have to visit the booth in the garage though and there can be a queue at times. No hard sell on anything there though. They will add your second driver on for you. With Avis your spouse is included whether you have an additional driver on your booking or not. They will require to see yours and your spouses licence at the booth.

This must be for new signed up members as never been asked to show my licence.

Does the additional driver have to be a spouse?
Me and my partner are not married but both intend to drive taking advantage of the free additional driver via our BA booking and being a preferred member. |

An additional driver you get for being BA Executive member, spouse is automatically included by being an avis member, so therefore you can have 3 drivers on one booking. Spouse doesn’t normally show licence but an additional driver has to.

I think the toll pass is probably worth it as I know we will be use turnpike twice and I think it costs more than maximum to do that.
Also don’t have to stop at toll plazas
