Staying onsite with DDP plan of action

Just after some advice.
What is the best plan of action to get a standard room booked ASAP when/if the free dining becomes available?
Do agents like ATD and Disney know when it will be released?
Any hints or tips?
What date does it usually become available?

We booked on opening day last year and it was the 19th of april,there were lots of rumours last year,then i think Disney sort of announced it the day before,i was on the phone for an hour to get through!

I booked a garden view room with 1 adult when dining was released at POFQ with a �50 deposit. I was unsure at that time how many of us would be going. Roll on a few months and I knew only 2 of us were going so, I changed the booking to a Standard Room as they had become available and added the 2nd adult then paying a second deposit of only �50. No amendment fee as adding the 2nd adult increased the overall price of the booking with the extra theme park ticket and we upgraded the dining. This was a booking direct with Disney.

It is usually mid /late April. Check daily around then, I am sure it will be mentioned on here, then book. I really don�t think there is any other way to plan.
