NYC bus tours
So as the trip calendar says we are off on multi-stop trip with a few days at wdw at the end because well, we couldn't resist
For our time in NY we are thinking about doing the open top hop-on and off buses but when we look at the reviews they are very mixed for every company! Does anyone have any recommendations for ones that were good and had frequent buses? Alternatively do you have any suggestions for alternative ways to get around? we cannot do the subway but are keen to see as much as we can in the few days we have there. |

for the midtown area i personally would just walk as you get to see the all the city and nothing is really that far apart/easily walkable. Traffic can be a nightmare so you could walk faster than the bus at times
getting to world trade/statue of liberty best bet is the subway cheap as owt & fast but as you cant use it? then maybe get a one day hop on / hop off pass to cover these areas? |

We've just done the Big Tour Bus (Brown one) and the Ride.
They were both excellent. The ride was hilarious! |

We did the Big Brown Bus, the tour itself was good, but traffic was horrendous for part of it.

We used the big bus I think, same company run in London. Never had an issue with traffic and we would've missed so much by taking subway. The guides are very knowledgeable and you see and learn much more being elevated than walking. If we return, we would use the subway and walk, but for first timers, we felt it was the perfect way to see the city and take in as much as possible.
