I think I’d be going down the DIY route. That way you can choose the flights you want, the accommodation you want. Weather wise I think you’ll find it hotter and a lot more humid end August beginning September, but quieter in the parks if the US schools have gone back.

We’re doing split stay this year. Booked Disney hotel direct with Disney. Flydrive direct with BA, and villa direct with the owner.

Are you going August? When did you book and did you get a good deal?

We did a split stay in October and loved it. We booked Disney accommodation and tickets direct to get the dining plan, a BA flydrive later when released, villas direct with Dibb Owners and a couple of other hotels direct with the hotel and through BA.

Going 1-22 August. Booked the flydrive during the September sale - paid £3,500 for 4 + SUV going PE (Tampa out and Fortlauderdale back). A bit pricier than normal, but we usually go economy. Booked 1 bed villa at OKW at 330 days out, for 5 nights through Disney when the free dining was on - expensive, but this will probably be the only time we stay onsite, as prefer the space of a villa. We always book separately, as it gives us more flexibility. We’re also restricted to school holidays, and as we like going for 3 weeks, limits us to summer. The villa part was booked direct with the owner last April, who we’ve used for the last 4 years.
