Xmas flights

Now That we are well into 2019 and are back from our Vegas trip I’m looking to start planning our next Florida trip
Won’t be this year but want to do Xmas 2020 for 3 weeks
Probably last 2 weeks in Dec and 1st week Jan
Anyone had experience of booking flights that time of year
I know they won’t be out till early 2020 but was wondering what we’re the best routes that time of year
Living in Newcastle we usually go indirect

Booking early I always find direct from Gatwick the cheapest by a country mile. Once you get to about 6-7 months out then Manchester starts to become cheaper.

An example...

We booked LGW-MCO direct in Feb last year 635 p/p you could get an indirect with 16hrs in New York but it was only 45 pounds cheaper.

Manchester wanted over a grand.

By July (I looked again) the same direct flight we had booked was 1100 and there were indirects starting at 825. Manchester now was around 900 direct.

By October the indirects were down at 650 and direct from anywhere was over 1200

I'm sure others saw different things as they looked on other days,. But hopefully it gives you a flavour

Did you know you can fly KLM NCL to AMS and then a direct flight from Amsterdam to Orlando. We often do the NCL- Heathrow - Miami flight to save changing from Heathrow to Gatwick. Just depends on what you prefer really - I do think the KLM option sounds good or Air Lingus route too. Love Christmas in Florida stunning to see and our favourite time there.

We did Newcastle-Dublin MCO in 2016 and it was great
When we looked at that route for 2018 there was no return to Newcastle from Dublin after the Newcastle flight landed till the next day
We ended up doing Edin-LGW-MCO
