October 2020
Hi All!
New here! Having been to Florida years ago I would love to take my daughter...Looking at early next October (she will be 5 then), and just researching prices. I know it’s early but the excitement gets the better of me! Does anyone have experience of what the weather has been like in recent October’s and also the crowds as I have read mixed about both. Also does anyone know what kind of price might be reasonable from Manchester for this time? I have found a good price on travel republic but again have never used them and read some varied reviews about them so unsure! Love reading all your tips and reports! Thanks in advance :-) |

No idea on flight prices from Manchester but we have done October half term last three years (since the first once in a lifetime trip!) Weather is variable. Of roughly 30 days there in total we’ve had a couple of really hot (29-30) days and a couple of cooler evenings and mornings but most of the time I’d say it was a lovely temperature around 23-26 most days. Only had a couple of torrential rain storms. They didn’t last long. Crowds are as reasonable as you can get I think during UK school holidays. We tend to do the Magic Kingdom on days when the Halloween party is on. As it closes early those days tends to be less crowded

That’s fab, thanks. I’ve read on a few threads that October is getting to be one of the busiest times so I was getting worried we would be spending all our time queuing! That temp seems perfect for the kids!

We were there last Oct and it was extremely hot , more than usual. We did MK the day of a Halloween party and it was a day after extra magic hours in the evening. The park was empty until about 4pm it was great. No queues for anything

Did October last year over half term, gorgeous weather and very happy with crowds. A good time to go I think. We paid about 3.5k which was a virgin package onsite hotel, Disney dining, tickets, 8nts, me and my dd aged 7

We have been twice in October. 2016 and 2017. 2016 was gloriously hot. Hardly a raindrop.
2017 was boiling for the first few days and utterly freezing with awful winds and then back to glorious again. It’s a great time to go as Halloween is such fun, especially if you can go to Celebration!

Yeah it seems a really fun time to go! Apart from the utterly freezing part! Was that during half term?

It was, although my girls get two weeks in October so it was the middle of the holiday with heat either side. I was shocked how cold it was. We still managed the beach but our trip on the seascreamer in Clearwater needed blankets and jackets!
I would still go in October every time. I got the feeling it was unusual to be so cold in October!
