Need some help and advise mum has cancer diagnosis

Jay Aston from Bucks Fizz had part of her tongue removed last year and a reconstruction because of mouth cancer. She appeared on a few daytime programmes before and after talking about it. It was a very enlightening and very positive story.

I know exactly how you feel, its so hard to see your mum trying to be brave for the rest of the family when she is so frightened inside and your dad as well (been there seen that) so sorry but you are the one who has to be so strong for them both at present. There are so many good reviews regarding what your mum will have done just keep thinking and telling your mum positive things. My heart truly aches for you, its a hard time but your stronger than you think trust me. Good luck and pixie dust on its way for you all.

Mum had a pre-op yesterday day.and is booked in for her operation on Thursday the 12th of December fingers crossed and everything else for a very positive outcome.

Sooner it's done & your mum can say "that's it now to work on recovery" the better. Good luck to her & all of you. Sending loads of Pixie Dust on it's way for the 12th. It may be hard going over the next few weeks but keep her spirits up with lots of positive encouragement.

Thank you for asking mum had her op on the 12th and was released on the 13th Broomfield an absolutely excellent hospital.
She lost about a large walnut sized piece of tongue from the side and the underneath on the right hand side. The first week was massively challenging due to the stitches, soreness and swelling but the past couple of days have been much easier with one of the dissolvable stitches which was causing pain coming out. Very slowly and steadily onwards and upwards now just waiting for results she's hoping to try and put her dentures in in tomorrow gently still on blended and soft food only.
