We've been a few times, but prefer to go in to Manchester by train, as we went to park once for a quick hour or two visit and were shocked at the price of parking where we wanted, can't remember where it was. Needless to say, we went back home and went in by train a week or so later.

I couldn’t believe how busy it was tonight! We have our first visit every year on the first mon or tues and it’s usually fine but tonight it was heaving! We mainly stayed around King St area but popped to Albert Square for a drink to see our friend who runs a stall and I couldn’t get over how busy it was. As locals we tend to avoid weekends but I wouldn’t let that put you off if you’re visiting - just make sure you have a look on the council website to see all the other areas in town so you have other options if Albert Square is too busy x

Loved it when I went last year. It’s great... but going with the family was tough... so so busy. Still managed my alcoholic hot chocolate though 😊

Top tip. I live in Manchester and go into town quite a lot for a gluhwein over the festivities. Albert Square itself is mental. Not fun. Pop across the way to Brazenove Street - there’s a big hut halfway down and it’s far quieter and you can get a seat. We don’t bother any more with Albert Square other than a cursory look around the stalls. It’s far too packed. We go to the giant hut on Brazenove and grab a table and a sausage and there is usually music/DJ on too and always a fun night. Then head to the Nags Head for a few more sherbets. Happy days 😊
