How to get fluffy rice

I use basmati rice and rince it before I cook it. I also put in a bit of salt when I'm cooking it.

It never comes out fluffy. Its always quite gooey.

Any suggestions for perfect rice

Thanks x

Drain the rice well in a sieve. In a medium, heavy-bottomed pot with a tight-fitting lid, combine 1-3/4 cups water, the rice, and a bit of butter or oil and salt, if you like. Bring to a boil over high heat. As soon as the water is boiling, lower the heat to a simmer and cover.

Rinse it more than once. Once it's cooked, leave it covered for 4-5 minutes then fluff it up with a fork. Try that 😊

The gooeyness could be the starch left in the cooked rice if your not rinsing it in boiling water after cooking.

Rinse rinse and rinse again in cold water before you cook it, and maybe use slightly less water to cook it. Sounds like it's going a bit puddeny..

In countries which eat a lot of rice it is common to soak it in cold water for at least 30 minutes prior to cooking. If I soak my rice drain and cover with fresh water for cooking it always turns out perfectly.

absorption method. 1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water (i use stock)

if its particularly sticky, rinse/soak the rice prior to cooking it to remove some of the starch
