Our grandson is 3 in November. He loves playing outside, no matter what the weathers like and loves all farm vehicles toys, he has been bought ride on pedal tractor. He also enjoys digging in the garden and plays with his wheelbarrow and gardening toys. He also plays with the wooden train sets, which he likes to help set up. We have a garage here which he plays with all the time, it has a lift to put the cars in and then rolls down the ramps. So far we have got him a play doh fire engine set and a simple remote control car for his birthday. He loves his books and learning his numbers, colours and letters, so he’s been bought quite a few educational toys as well

Have you seen the Learning Resources Design & Drill Toys? They are for children from 3 years. My son loved tools when he was three. The other thing that was really popular for us was a cardboard rocket ship den.

Does he like dinosaurs?
My 5 year old grandson has been obsessed with them since he was 2. For his birthday in April I bought him a suitcase with a dinosaur print all over it and filled it with all things dinosaur he loved it and it kept him entertained for hours

At that age my sons loved ”pretend” toys such as toy food, cashier, microwave, toaster, lawnmover, tools. My eldest was obsessed with a tapemeasure at one point 😃
Dressing up as doctors (and doctors kit), firemen, police or superheroes.

My children also liked measuring tapes and torches. When my eldest was four her greatest possession was a Jurassic Park hat from Universal because it had a light on the front.
Would he like a puppet theatre? Or just the hand puppets? I think children can be difficult. One nephew was delighted to get a box of rubber gloves at that age to play doctor. His father also built him his own ladder as that was on his list at that age. I am guessing your husband has sorted the grandchildren out with a set of golf clubs? 😉 |
