We don’t have enough clothes to pack ages before. It’s the night before at the earliest for us.

I start laying stuff out on the spare bed in the weeks before then pack properly a couple of days before we go with a checklist ticking off what’s going in as I’m doing it so I know where I am. You can do this!

I love a list, I really do. But hell will freeze over before I do a “packing checklist”.

If I didn’t have a list I’d overpack so much I’d have no space to bring anything back!

I ask “ how has this happened” every time we go away. I always vow never to do it again but I still end up packing the day before ! Didn’t even learn my lesson when daughter ended up in A& E the day before !
When the children were young I used to buy a full set of completely new clothes and set them aside ready to pack. These days we don’t have enough clothes to set aside and we would just end up rummaging in the case all the time. Cabin bag only, keep it light and only take what we actually need, takes about 10 minutes ! I do have a list to go off though. OP have fantastic holiday ! |

Thanks for all your support. Nearly everything is in the cases - just got to wait for the last couple of items from the tumble dryer.
I don't use a list these days, when I was younger I had a printed Girl Guide Camp kit list which I referred to a lot. Once I've checked in on line I'll pop out to the cash machine as I guess our taxi driver to Heathrow would prefer to be paid in pounds! Feeling a lot calmer. |
