Head lice treatment
Dd youngest has got visitors from some child in nursery, she got stuff from minor ailments that you keep on for 8 hours and repeat a week later, sadly he still has them. Any tips on how to get rid of them would be most welcome. I am so glad I am in Italy atm, f

The only proven way is to comb them out with a specialist comb. Put conditioner on and comb carefully in sections. You need to repeat every few days for a few weeks.
The treatment only kills live nits, the eggs survive and hatch. We use Vosene 3in1 shampoo regularly with contains a repellant to DD not had them since (about 5 years) |

I used the nitty gritty comb from Boots. Slathered with loads of really cheap conditioner and painstakingly picked them out. It took about a week to get her clear. I had used special lotions but found them to be expensive and totally useless.

With special lotion and a comb it took 3 weeks to get rid of them completely.
With conditioner or baby oil and a comb it took 3 weeks to be rid of them completely. Combing is the key. |

We use headrin and the comb. We then use vosene 3 in 1 to try and keep at bay.

Yep, nitty gritty comb and conditioner, keep at it. Tea tree shampoo and conditioner has helped us stop getting them. If he’s still at nursery I’d continue to check each couple of days as other children could still have them and reinfect.

I don’t how long her hair is but you could burn the little bu##ers with the hair straighteners. Keep the hair plaited so they don’t come back, my dd had them for a year on and off. When we started straightening her hair they disappeared for good! 😁

Another vote for the nitty gritty comb. It’s more expensive than other combs but much, much more effective. It’s the only comb I’ve used that catches all the lice and the eggs, which are hard to remove.
I’m scratching my head even thinking about this!
