Hi we're staying at highland reserve villa's which is on the 192. First holiday to Florida. Is there plenty of choice in this area. Thanks :-)

Within a few miles of Highlands on the US27 you will have Applebees, Santa Fe Cattle, Bob Evans, Denny's, Cracker Barrel, Perkins, Manny's. On the 192 there is the new restaurants at Rolling Hills, you will find Bahama Breeze, Longhorns, Applebees, etc

As you are already on the '27 then you are not limited to the 192 for restaurant choice. Restaurants on the 192 (especially the popular ones) can be horrendously busy with long wait times.
If you continue up the 27 then you have a choice or the same restaurants, but with walk-in availability and a much higher level of service in our experience. There is a cluster of popular restaurants at Clermont Landings, which is just a 15-20 minute drive away. Other restaurants can be found on the '50 which is just a couple of minutes further on Regards Gary

As well as the places already mentioned, there are lost of the usual take away places too - Macdonalds, KFC etc - if you don't fancy a sit down meal.

Have to disagree with Gary, the places at Formosa gardens and Rolling Oaks are busy but not over busy and are far better than the ones at Clermont landing which are at least 20mins away.
We spend June, July & Aug out there each year and have never waited more than 10 mins, especially if you use 'call ahead'. At Rolling Oaks you have a Longhorn, Olive Garden, Applebees, Millers Ale House, Sweet Tomatoes and Panera Bread (if its open yet). At Formosa Gardens you have Carabbas, TGI's, Outback & Carcker Barrell plus some pizza places. Before you get to Rolling Oaks (opposite Orange Lake) there is a Houlihans. |

We stay down the US 27 too and our favourites around the area (US27 and US192) are all within a 20 mins drive (and 20 mins is by far the farthest). There's Manny's, Cracker Barrell, Bahama Breeze, Sweet Tomatoes, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse which are all ones we visit regularly. Then there's Carrabba's, Ponderosa, Golden Corral, and many, many more.
If you've not already got it, Mapman's map is absolutely brilliant for showing you what is around and about.
