What are year 2 children reading?

My Daughter has just begun her degree in primary teaching. She has been told that they are going to a local school to read a book to year 2 children. She has to choose the book and I can’t remember what she was reading at that age.

Any suggestions for a really good book that can be read aloud?

Thanks

My son is in year 1, but a mixed year 1 / 2 class. How about the jolly postman, and each time she asks a different child to come and pull a letter out of the envelope? If it’s near Halloween, funnybones could be a good one

Anything by Julia Donaldson always goes down well.

My DS who is year 2 absolutely loves Dr Seuss we have the box set, he loves the funnybones series, any Julia Donaldson, and also the dinosaur who pooped series, aliens love underpants series. We read lots of others but those are his favourites.
