Bathroom and en-suite refurb

I love a good bathroom renovation thread so I though I post mine. We’re having a complete bathroom and ensuite refurbishment and due to some plumbing issues (one room backs onto the other) both are being done at the same time. Luckily we have a toilet in the garage and I’ve negotiated “shower only” rates at a local leisure centre 😂. I’ve chosen a local plumber who’s done some amazing renovations so I know his work will be good. They’re starting tomorrow with a 3 week timeline but should hopefully be finished a bit sooner.

I am worried about the amount of disruption, mainly the noise and dust but hopefully the worst of that will be over after the first week. From what I understand they will be dismantling the main bathroom Over the next few days and chasing in all the new pipe work (current pipe work is overground) then moving into the ensuite to do the same there while the tiler starts his work in the main bathroom.

I’ve kept the bathroom layout the same but will be moving the vanity further away from the toilet as the old style radiator is being replaced by a slimmer towel rail radiator. The ensuite is tiny so the shower and vanity positions are being reversed in there to give a bit more space. Here’s the before pictures of both rooms and the stuff in the garage ready for the off.

Look forward to following this.
We had a complete new bathroom 2 years ago, it took 5 days and it really wasn’t bad.

Look forward to seeing the progress. We’ve just done our bathroom and en-suite too but fortunately we weren’t living in the house at the time. Dust got everywhere! Delighted with the results. Hope it all goes well for you.

I'm kind of hoping that the reality is less than the dread of it

I'd love the option not to be here I've been raiding he charity shops for quilt covers and sheets to throw over everything in the hope it helps a bit.

Thanks, I'm excited to see how it turns out and hopefully still love everything I've picked out

Great idea! Wish I’d thought of that!

I figured it should keep the worst of it at bay and I can always wash them and re-donate afterwards

Really good luck with your renovation. I hope it all goes smoothly and you end up happy with the end result. I can't wait to see it all come together.
