Passport photo for DCL Check in

Just trying to familiarise myself with the check in process for DCL and get my ducks in a row in advance. It says that you need to upload a photo of the “front” of your passport.

Do you just take a photo of the passport page with your photo and info on it, or does it need more than that?

Thanks for any info!

You need your passport plus an additional head and shoulders picture which must be different from the passport photo, plus a credit card to set up charging facilities. Our personal information is still pending approval but I was able to complete everything else including port arrival time and obtaining a boarding group.
I don’t think the first section is terribly clear & I’m wondering whether I should have uploaded a copy of our ESTAs as well, although it doesn’t instruct you to print out a copy until later in the process. I’ve emailed DCL for advice but am still waiting for a reply.

Hi

I completed check in for our Disney cruise yesterday. I had to upload the following documents
1. Picture of the photo page of passport
2. Picture of approved Esta (as we are sailing from Florida)
3. Passport style picture - for this I just took head & shoulders picture on my phone and uploaded these

Hope that helps 😀

How did it allow you to upload two photos ie passport and ESTA?

When you do check in there is a separate section for each of the items you need to upload

Ah ok! Thank you!

Sorry for all the questions but can you upload the ESTA in pdf? It’s quite a few pages isn’t it?

No - it wouldn’t let me upload the esta in pdf format, so had to take a picture of it - just the first page of esta that has the approval on it 😀

You don’t need a credit card, you can just tick the box for cash to make check in quicker. Keep it as cash if you want too of course or add a card on later.
