Help on single day tickets please

We’re off to Florida on Saturday and all ticketed up with reservations made. Our son is marine engineer and just said, unexpectedly but a pleasant surprise, that he can join us as he’s leaving his ship a little early and would like to do the odd Disney day with us. The problem is many of the days we are booked for, those parks are now showing no availability.

Does anyone know if Disney hold back any day admission tickets that we could buy on the gate.

Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance.

You can buy 1-day tickets at the gate but you still need to book a park reservation using that ticket in order to get in the park. I'm afraid to say that there isn't a separate allocation of park reservations for those that buy 1-day tickets on the day. The availability of the park reservations is shown here:

disneyworld/availa...ment =tickets

...and once a park is booked up then that's it, unless someone else cancels their reservation (I suppose).

Because of the need to book park reservations, I'd suggest buying the 1-day ticket beforehand and as early as possible. You can buy 1-day tickets from either UndercoverTourist, OrlandoAttractions or Disney's US website (if you are in the UK then you'll need a VPN to pretend you are in the USA).

I have just bought one day tickets…..used the VPN (if I can work out how to use that anyone can! )
Did it on Disney US site…linked straight away to MDE so I got park booked immediately.
Hope you get something sorted out…. Have a great time 😊
