New boiler warranty/guarantee
I’m getting a new Worcester bosh boiler fitted and it comes with an 8 year warranty or is it guarantee? What does this cover? Do I still need my service plan?
Boiler man has been really nice but I can’t ask him again something I’m sure he has already told me! This is a mind field! I’m still getting over the cost

I have an 8 year parts and labour warranty with mine which covers any issues but we still have to pay for our annual service and this has to be kept up or the warranty becomes void. Hope this helps!

I was paying British Gas a monthly fortune for a service plan and when I got my new boiler, I was advised I didn’t need it as it’s covered by the warranty. It was installed by British Gas though. I do still need to pay for the annual service.

You do need to ask him again and get him to put in writing what is covered, what is not and what you need to do annually to keep the coverage eg annual service. Plans can be very different and therefore any advice here may not be correct.

Thank you that’s good news to hear I will be saving £33 per month from my service plan.
Paying for an annual service is not a lot.

OP. Sad to say but over the 8 year warranty you will probably lose some Weeks or Months each time you have a service. Not a big issue mind.
I have this with my Baxi. Service due on the 12th Sept every year for 10 years. But the Fitter can't make the 12th so comes on the 6th. The following year he can only come on the 1st. And repeat etc. However never let it go past the 12 month gap or past the installation date. Companies love using the small print against you!

i got a 10yr warranty on my boiler when i moved in, the only condition is it needs to be serviced once a year by an approved engineer (in my case, the plumber who fitted it)
costs me £50 a year to get that done |
