Renting DVC points

We'd love to stay in a 2 bed Disney villa next time and I assume renting DVC points would be the best way of doing this.
Had a look on a few point renting websites and it seems to cost in excess of $10K for a 2 week stay.
Does this sound right? Really wasn't expecting it to be so expensive.

A 2 bed at BWV runs from $950 to $1600 a night depending on the season so yeah I could see $10k for 14 nights renting points.

Which resort were you looking at?

Actually you are right in that for a 2 bed, renting DVC points would be the cheapest way but you are also very right that it is that expensive! A 2 bed is basically: A studio plus a 1 bed & the points reflect this. There is also a massive difference between "DVC Seasons" & Resorts:
Choice Season 2 weeks:
SSR - Standard approx £7100
AKV - Standard approx £7400 Savannah approx £9200
BCV - Standard approx £8600
Now it's a bit difficult to compare like for like as they don't always offer the DVC resorts & even if they do not in the same room categories but that SSR one would be approx £9000 Direct with Disney so DVC would be a £1900 saving but still not cheap !
