Dreaming, Then The Beach Club Day 8

Day 8 Sept 8th.

The weather seems to be getting hotter, well it's hovering around the mid 90s every day, no wind or clouds and definitely no rain.
We just grabbed coffee while we were getting ready today and managed to jump straight on the AK bus.
On the way in we stopped to watch a duck getting its wings clipped and then headed straight to Kilimanjaro Safari, it was the best Safari we've done, every animal was out even the ones like cheetahs, that you never see, were walking around! There were so many that the driver couldn't point them out quickly enough.
How many of you say 'I'm taking no animal photos this time!' then the minute something with 4 legs shows up, the camera is out 🤣.
Back into Africa for a Colossal Cinnamon bun each for breakfast, from Kusafiri Bakery and iced water - too hot for coffee! We found some shade and a table near the Dawa bar where there was a free water dispenser set up, to enjoy them and then we wandered round the Gorilla trail and had a look in the shops. I've been taking photos of anything I like the look of for myself or for presents, and will decide what I want over the next week. I'm getting very sensible in my old age!
We could hear the monkeys screaming in the distance, so went to see them, and looked in the Otter Grotto, then went back over to Africa to see the Lion King show - amazing as ever! More cold water from the dispenser at the Dawa bar, then another browse in the shops before going to Asia for DH to go on Expedition Everest as a single rider.
While I was waiting I looked for some shade to sit in and found a couple of stools - luckily they were bar stools at the Thirsty River bar, I had a non alcoholic Pink Lotus cocktail, and ordered DH a Bud Light ready for him joining me after the ride, then did a bit of people watching which is always fun.
We had a FP for Flight of Passage so that was next and for us it's still the best ride! We were ready for food, so we had lunch at Satuli Canteen and the CM asked if DH wanted the small or large beer - hellooo?
Not the best idea, but after lunch we went over to Dinosaur which was a walk on, then headed back to the Beach Club where instead of going to the pool, we fell asleep for 1.5 hours, waking in time for a shower and to go to our dinner reservation at Yachtsman Steakhouse which was good but not a good as usual, we didn't really do it justice - and my favourite dessert, the Creme Brûlée was 'deconstructed' , a pet hate of mine. Why deconstruct a perfectly good dessert and have blobs of 'stuff' all over the plate, grrr.
At 11.45pm we were sound asleep when we heard an explosion and our room lit up. We actually thought it was something in the hotel - Turned out to be Illuminations running again with no notice, so we were awake for ages. Still don't know if it was a special event or what, but it gave us a shock 💥🎆🎇.

Another great day. Shame about your creme brûlée.

I had a look at your other BC photos and noticed I'd checked them out before as I'd commented. It was lovely to look through them again though. Thank you.

It happened 4 nights! We did go to the front desk to ask about it but they weren't able to tell us if/when it was happening - bit of a pain after a couple of times.

Another good day and the weather was beautiful.
Good idea to take pictures of things you like for yourself or a gift.
