Mobile USA Road Trips...

Who’s done what road trip, for how long ?

In a car or did you hire an RV - where did you fly in & out of etc,.

Really interested to hear any stories you might have, planning/thinking about holidays Is the only thing keeping us sane at the moment !

We did San Francisco to San Diego stopping at San Francisco, Monterrey, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, LA and San Diego. We did it in 17 nights in October. I did all of the driving, and we booked various hotels on the way down.

We’ve done San Fean, Yosemite, PCH, LA and Las Vegas which was fantastic, last time we did Washington DC, Smoky Mountains, Nashville and Atlanta, also brilliant. This August we had booked LA, Grand Canyon, Vegas and San Diego bit it’s unlikely to happen so may be moved to next year.

Done at least 10 North East, West Coast, South West never hire and RIv you cant get in to the citys so well and far ore expensive than hotels.

Best trip we have done is Denver to LA

I want to Ride America but wife cant drive so means we cant do it an take DD on holiday and we woudl always take her

Done a lot (3 trip reports below) and have another planned for 7 September - Canada/USA. Don't know if we'll make it but still hoping - if not, we'll move it to next year.

We did San Francisco to Las Vegas in late September/ early October 2009. It was fantastic!
We flew into San Francisco, stayed in Union Square for a few nights before collecting a car and heading down the coast.
San Francisco - San Luis Obispo (via Carmel & Big Sur) - Anaheim (day in Santa Monica too) - Flagstaff - Las Vegas - San Francisco. We flew from Vegas back to San Francisco.
It was just over 3 weeks in total.
