I’d take the million and help everyone to have a better life, then I can die happy. Nobody knows what’s around the corner

I’d take the lump sum.
I met Andi peters when I was around 11 (I’m now 39) and he looks no different! I reckon he has a pact with the devil.. |

Yes maybe but if I was unemployed or on a low income I’d probably take it all now as the thought of suddenly being a millionaire would be appealing. I just like the idea of loads of money coming in every month (on top of what already does) instead of in one go. Mind you if it actually happed who knows what I’d do. It would definitely be a nice decision to have!
I also think it would depend on how much money I already had in the bank at the time too. 😉 Kat

It depends on;
Whether the £10k a month you could get a mortgage based upon. What rate that mortgage would be and whether the interest payments would total more than £200k Basically I would pick the £10k a month but only if I can buy a nice house with it and it would be financially beneficial to do so. If not I would take the £1m now.

I wonder if the prize money carries on after death? As that would be another consideration. I think the lottery one of 10k over 30 years can be transferred to the winners estate if they die.

As a dual national, I'm looking at it from the position of am I still likely to be a UK resident in 10 years? Possibly not, and that may have tax implications or even void the remaining prize. So 1m now please. Then I might go retire in Aus with it.
