Manchester Marathon

Official time 4:16:55

Why do I underestimate how tough a marathon is. I’m so calm about it until I’m 4 miles in and wondering why the hell I signed up to it. This mental battle carried on until mile 14 when I told myself to snap out of it and enjoy the day.

I must have took a wrong turn at mile 14 and into pure hell when I started with cramp in my thighs, calves and ankles. Honestly the worst. Managed to run non stop up until mile 22 when I had to give in and stretch the cramp out.

The crowds in Manchester were absolutely unreal
The support was amazing.
Emotional at times actually.
I was smiling at the lovely supporters with a pained face sometimes as the cramp was unbearable. Just ran through it to end the race as quickly as possible. At one point my foot started turning in 😧

Anyway! It’s done and maybe again April 2022 just to keep the nerves at bay for the wedding ❤️

Absolutely fantastic, a huge well done! We popped into Manchester yesterday and saw all the runners on Deansgate. I was having a good look for you but thought it might have freaked you out if done strange woman shouted you and frantically waved.😂 Hope you are not too achey today.👍🏻

I think the wonder as to who you were for the rest of the race would have got me round 🤣❤️❤️❤️

Wow! Well done, fantastic time as well, bet you are so proud!

Hope you are feeling ok today.

I would love to run a marathon (have run half’s) but honestly can’t even imagine running another 13 after that!
