Virgin Flying Club Question

I have booked flights for next May with my Virgin points. However, I could only get Manchester to Atlantic for the outbound leg, with Orlando to Manchester on the inbound.

I'm quite happy to arrange an internal flight from Atlanta to Orlando - there's a budget airline whose timings would fit. However, before I book that...

If Virgin points seats became available on the Manchester to Orlando flight, can I swap, or would usual rules around paying to make amendments etc apply?

You can swap for a maximum fee of £35 per person per leg.

yes reward seats allow you to change flights usually at £35 per person but they didnt charge for the last one i changed

we are going to book london to miami next week using rewards but if man to mco becomes available with rewards we will switch

I booked some flights into Miami last week and they said we could change the flights to Orlando if they become available without any amendment fee. That does seem to contradict everything else I've seen though.

London was available for us but I do not want the hassle of getting down there - we have to fly to Gatwick and transfer to Heathrow, plus flight times are pants. I’d actually rather transit via Atlanta than fly from Heathrow!

If going via atlanta do you do all your immigration there on arrival or you final destination in Orlando.

I am guessing the prior would be easier

If you’re indirect, you do immigration at your first US airport, so yes you’d do immigration in Atlanta and just walk out essentially in MCO.

We’ve just changed some flights today that were booked with virgin points . We were originally flying to Miami for a cruise but for various reasons we will now be cruising from Cape Liberty so had to change our flights to JFK. It took me about 4hrs to get thru to Virgin and get it sorted but, we changed it all and had to pay £30 per person amendment fee.
