I have been constantly reminded today of the Toy Story song “You’ve got a friend in me” after watching Kevin Sinfield finish his run for MND. 101 miles in 24 hours to raise money for MND due to his friend and former team mate Rob Burrows being struck down with that awful disease.

It is such a great achievement and a wonderful cause. I will admit that it has made me cry at least twice today whilst watching the coverage and reading the tweets after the total donated went through 1 million.

I cried as he got closer to Headingley and started crying himself, then I bawled as he gave Rob a hug when he finished.

I have followed the story for a while now on MND, it’s heartbreaking for all involved but what a wonderful friendship they must have. So delighted that he has raised so much.

It's heartbreaking that this horrible disease has hit Rob and his young family. He certainly does have a friend in Kevin.
