Virgin to Orlando from Edinburgh ?! ?

Saw an ad / posting on FB that Virgin will be flying to Orlando (direct) from March next year (and flights to Barbados too)

Flights to Barbados will begin this December with Orlando set to commence from March 2022. Book your adventure from the 18th August

They stopped flying from Glasgow then? Not heard of them flying from Edinburgh before, of have I just not be paying attention?

Interesting, off to price up a fly drive but I dont hold out much hope for a good price!

Yes Edinburgh-Orlando is replacing Glasgow Orlando for summer 2022. The flights will be updated on 18th August

That’s interesting. , I need to have a wee look on the 18th thank you ! They have flights for next year from Glasgow available just now at eye watering prices ! xxx

Launching on the 5th December and on sale from 18th August, Edinburgh’s new Caribbean flights to Barbados will operate twice weekly on an Airbus A330. Fares will start from as little as £419 per person.

Wow, we’ve booked with ba for next year, but will be checking this out. Always the chance of a small miracle that might bag a reasonable price!

Wonder what that means for existing Glasgow bookings. Assuming they’ll be transferred?

Glasgow bookings will be given the choice to transfer to Edinburgh or Manchester. I don’t know if they will be offering refunds for those who don’t want to transfer. They may offer refunds but I’m not sure.

So they're replacing Glasgow with Edi? Works better for us as its closer but I was hoping it was in addition as we only get 2 Glasgow flights a week.

About an hour apart so many costs the same, perhaps fees at Edinburgh a lot less?
