Don't forget that unless you are travelling in First Class or are a member of BA Exectuive Club Silver or above or have special assistance needs then pre - booking seats is chargeable. Families with children 11 and under will be allocated seats between 3-7 days prior to travel and BAEC Bronze card holders can choose 7 days beforehand.

To get an idea of costs just do a dummy flight booking and you can get to a page which shows the costs per seat as they are noe all a standard price and then you can just abandon the booking without commitment.

I hate how they've changed PE to chargeable.. we're flying to Toronto in Dec to visit family and it's £48 as a minimum each/each way.

I just refuse to pay it.
We’ve yet to be separated , I just check in bang on the 24 hour mark.
If the worst happened we’d manage , out of a two week holiday it’s a few hours apart some of which spent sleeping . For me it’s not worth the extra money.
The PE cabin is so small anyway it’s not a massive issue for us.

We’ve booked seats with BA 6 times and 3 of those flights we were upgraded to business (from PE) or premium (from economy).

I sort of see it as a cheap chance at an upgrade now 🤣
