New kind of holiday
Hi everyone! Now back on here possibly planning a trip for 2020 - with DH, DS & DD - and DD's' boyfriend and her best friend- so 6 of us. We're thinking a villa for a week in Orlando and a villa for a week by the beach somewhere. I will no doubt think of lots of questions so please forgive me in advance for pestering all you lovely people!
My husband and I probably won't do the parks this time so will be looking for other things to do locally. But, we will be a taxi service for the youngsters to and from the parks! My first question is - can you drop passengers all the way to the "gate" at the disney parks without paying the $20 (as it was two years ago, may have increased) parking fee? Thanks everyone xx |

We done just that a few years ago. When we got to the parking booths we just said we were dropping off and they headed us in the right direction. There was no charge but may have changed now. While they were at the parks we enjoyed our time at places like Celebration, Winter garden, Disney Springs and of course shopping at the malls. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet relaxing by the pool.

Thank you for your reply! All the other activities you mention sound good. Celebration is definitely somewhere I'd like to see, just haven't managed it up until now!

We managed to drop off in parks too ( only universal didn’t try Disney ) there’s lots you could do try finding a nature reserve as they’re beautiful and you can usually hire bikes etc... this is better ok the coast tho! I’d youre staying anywhere near Boca Grande down there it is a must!

Last year my husband dropped myself and daughter off at MK, just told them at parking booth thing and directed us to follow a certain colour line for drop offs. Didn’t have to pay anything

Definitely go to Celebration! So many lovely little shops and gorgeous walks. They also do a bike hire, we've done it a couple of times, so much fun and is a great way to see all of Celebration

As others have said when we dropped family off at the parks we told the attendant at the plaza and then followed the blue line all the way in (and out )
Celebration is a good place to visit - we go at least twice every holiday. Better at Christmas to be honest. Lots of places to eat but sadly very few shops now. Kilwins ice cream and the rocking chairs at the lake. A few more non-park places. Scenic lake and canal rides at Mount Dora and Winter Park, Harry Leu Gardens, Bok Tower, Lake Louisa, downtown Winter Garden. Apart from MVMCP in 2014 we haven't been to a park since 2010. Mick
