Aldi vs Walmart - here now don't believe the hype
Read up on many comments about Aldi being cheaper than Walmart before we travelled. Here at moment, we did a full shop in Aldi, came to $244 and prices didn't seem to us to be any cheaper than previous visits to Walmart or Publix... following week went to Walmart, many items were a lot cheaper in Walmart whom as you'd expect had far more choice... our view is genuinely don't believe the Aldi hype !

I would spend less in Aldi because apart from the isle of shame (which was't really a thing last time I was in an Aldi stateside) there is a lot less stuff, far fewer choices, and a greater chance of only buying what you went in for. $244 for a week? How many did you shop for?

We always go to Walmart, some things are expensive, but we just get what we want, we are on holiday after all and I like a good mooch around at all the non food stuff (DH would not agree!).

I’d be quite interested to know which items you found cheaper in Walmart because we were there a few weeks ago and definitely found most items cheaper in Aldi.
A tray of 24 bottles of water was twice the price in Walmart and every item of fruit n veg we bought was cheaper in Aldi - sometimes up to half the price.

Wow $244 in Aldi. That’s over £200 - that’s some achievement in Aldi
Personally, I would rather go to Target/Publix/Walmart and experience the real America rather than some European discount store😀 It’s part of our holiday enjoyment going round Target |

Same here. Most items we found were cheaper in Aldi - a few were similar price in walmart but I would say most items were alot cheaper in Aldi.
We did the bulk basic buys in Aldi but still went to walmart & target and got lots there too

We always stay in a villa but never do a food shop, just bottles of water, orange juice, beers and a few snacks.
We eat out all the time, I’m on holiday too I’m certainly not cooking 😂 |

Ah see for me, I think we're gonna check out Aldi for price. We're big fans of making sandwiches, taking fruit out with us during the day. I like to save money on stuff like that so I can then buy my M&Ms.
