Delayed plane help please.

We are at Gatwick flying on the BA2167 to Tampa. Was due at 12. Its delayed but the text said due to a late aircraft change.

Does this mean late changeover of cleaning and crew or they've last minute changed the plane? We had a new plane 3-4-3 and booked the centre row as we need 2 aisle seats. DH and I are both terrible being stuck in. I'm now worried we might be put on a 3-3-3 and be moved around.

I would think it was an aircraft change, best thing is to go and ask the gate staff.

If the queues are long try looking at the BA app and see if the seat map or your seat numbers have changed..

Thank you. We are in a lounge so didnt want to leave as technically we are over our time allowed now. App is just showing delayed but I'll see if I can see seat numbers. Looks reassuring so far.
