Travel Insurance
We are a very excited family, booked or Thomas Cook flights and have a villa from HomeAway for next August.
Could my fellow Dibbers help with travel insurance, any recommendations as the few I've looked only cover up to £5000 and we have spent that on flights alone... Any suggestions please... |

I can't help I'm afraid unless you're asking about old people with PEMCs
However most travel policies are written "per person" - you're not paying £5,000 each for flights are you? Mick

Its cover in case any company on any part of your holiday goes bust, it covers the cost of new airline tickets, hotels, transport food etc..

Are you sure that you are reading it correctly? £5000 looks more like what you get if you cancel and that is usually for each person covered. We usually go with £10M cover and would never go with less than £5M.

Look at annual policies as often - for reasons not sure any of us understand - they can be cheaper than single trip policies. The amounts per cover are per person as has been said so £5k cancellation means up to £20k for party of 4. Same with medical and I agree £5m minimum for US and ideally £10m. If taking valuables and cash, make sure you have enough baggage and personal money cover. Again it is per person. End supplier failure is not usually standard but can be added.
