Dorian!
Just saying that was pretty widespread and whilst pre covid was within the last 7 years.

As others say though it doesn’t put us off booking again at that time of year, and gives the kids something to tell their friends lol.

NOAA are also predicting a below normal 2022 Pacific hurricane season, so they don't always predict above average.
I was actually watching a show on Netflix last night called “The G Word with Adam Conover” about how the government get their weather data and I’m pretty sure it was the NOAA who he was with. He actually flew with them through a hurricane to see how they gather the data. It was very interesting and well worth a watch!

It hasn't put me going off to Orlando in the future again, but it was pretty scary and frustrating when we were stuck in Orlando for an extra week (airport closed 2 hours before our flight home!) during hurricane Irma in 2017.

There was flooding close by and quite a bit of damage around, lots of trees down where we were staying. Talk about sleepless night.

We were just lucky that we were able to stay in the condo for a couple of days before we found a hotel we could move to while waiting to get on a flight home.
