Tried googling this and didn’t find the answer. Also the server is coming with the bill right now, so under pressure….

What’s the expected tip at a buffet? In the hard rock hotel’s restaurant and I’m already terrified of the damage.

Suggested tip will be printed on the bill I think. Certainly Disney do that and I think other places do too.

No difference with a buffet, the staff work just as hard if not harder.

The most commonly tipped and my thoughts are:
Waiting staff: 15% is considered minimum with 20% for good service. It's now between 18 and 22
Bar staff: $1-2 a round. Always thought it was $1 a drink, unless a mixed, then more
Room cleaners: $1 per person in room per day; left per day so your cleaner doesn’t miss out if off on the day you check out.
Baggage porters at airport or in hotel:$5-10 depending on amount of luggage?
Someone else helping with luggage, eg, driver on car hire shuttle: $1-2 per bag/case.
Clerk retrieving left luggage at hotel (if you’ve used this facility):$5?
Valet at valet parking: $5?
Bus driver on excursions: $5-10 depending on length of excursion etc.Usually a $1-2per person
Cab driver: 10-15%; mimimum of $2-3.

Just my thoughts!
My experience.

$1-$2 a drink or total % of around 7.5% of the bill for a buffet.
