Prom Night Y11

My ds sits his GCSE’s this academic year. After his exams and before the school holidays start we’d like to visit Disney etc. He has said he’d like to go to his prom though. Can anyone help with roughly when the Y11 prom night will be please? It’s not on the school’s calendar.

It totally depends on the school. I’d ring them up. My daughter had hers at the beginning of July. You also have to factor in induction days to sixth form or college.

We have just had ours as it was pushed back numerous times due to Covid. I don’t anyone can really give you the answer . I know our school havent released next year due to the amount of money wasted on dresses etc the last 2 years, none of the schools fault of course .

My Daughter has just been told it will be on 30th June next year in her school but I would expect them to be anytime from then until the end of term really.

My son is year 12 and had his prom moved several times but it eventually went ahead on July 21st. My eldest had his at the end of June (in normal times!).

Equally true in many schools (our kids for example) the prom is a student/parent organised activity and nothing to do with the school (for some really good safeguarding and insurance reason) so it would not appear on the school calendar as it is not strictly a school event (I know many schools organise one but our LEA doesn't do that)
